Location

Conveniently located above Wynyard train station, Macquarie City Campus
is minutes from the Australian Stock Exchange, Martin Place and many international business headquarters. Also located close to Sydney’s main tourist attractions, Macquarie City Campus is a ten minute walk from The Rocks, The Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Study a Macquarie University degree

Students who study at the Macquarie City Campus graduate with a Macquarie University degree. Graduation ceremonies are held at North Ryde and students from both campuses attend the same ceremony.

Teaching campus

Macquarie City Campus is a teaching campus of Macquarie University, located in the heart of Sydney CBD. Macquarie City Campus teaches select Macquarie University undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Students study the same content and have the same standard of academic teaching as students located at North Ryde.

Macquarie City academics

Academics at Macquarie City Campus are employed for their industry experience and bring knowledge and expertise into the lecture room. All academics are approved by Macquarie University and many teach at other leading Australian universities. All academic staff teaching at Macquarie City Campus are highly qualified with many having studied either a PhD or double Master degree.

Macquarie City Campus has a diverse student population with students from many other countries including Australia, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, France, Germany, Korea and Vietnam. Smaller campus environment

Macquarie City Campus offers individualised attention through smaller class sizes, with lectures capped at 50 students and tutorials at 25. The campus has a dedicated team of professionals available to provide academic advice and support and can refer students to various study skills programs located on campus.

State-of-the-art facilities

Macquarie City Campus has state of-the-art facilities and services, including a course-specific library, new lecture rooms and computer laboratories. The campus has over 60 computers in two separate laboratories with an additional 30 in the library. Wireless internet is available for all current students. Students at Macquarie City Campus also have access to the facilities at North Ryde, including the
library, gymnasium, personal and careers counselling services.

Library services

At Macquarie City Campus there is a course-specific library. In addition to borrowing books from Macquarie City Campus, students may also borrow books from the Macquarie University Library in North Ryde using their Macquarie University student card. Books borrowed from North Ryde can be returned to the City Campus.

In 2010, Macquarie University will open a new library, unlike anything seen at an Australian university. The AU$70m library will be a leap forward in library design, efficiency and sustainability. It will have open spaces for learning and feature Australia’s first automated document storage and retrieval system. Material stored in the system will be retrieved by robots at the push of a button. Currently, Macquarie University Library has over 1 million books and an extensive online database.
