SUITABLE FOR
The program is suitable for students who have not completed the equivalent of Australian Year 12. Students study preparatory subjects in a small, supportive environment and have access to Macquarie City Campus' experienced academic staff. Once qualified, students articulate into a Bachelor degree at Macquarie City Campus.
COURSE STRUCTURE
Macquarie City Campus offers a 36 week or 52 week Macquarie University Foundation Studies course depending on a student high school results. This qualification is made up of a number of core units and a select range of elective units.
TEACHING METHODS
Students attend four hours of classroom-based lectures and tutorials per unit per week.
ASSESSMENT METHODS
Assessment methods vary depending on the course and units selected. A combination of assessments, including assignments, essays, oral presentations, tutorial participation and formal examinations may be used.
ENTRY INTO A BACHELOR DEGREE

On successful completion of Macquarie University Foundation Studies, students can articulate into a bachelor degree at Macquarie City Campus. Students who pass foundation studies, but do not gain admission into a bachelor degree can apply to study an SIBT Diploma either at Macquarie University, North Ryde or Macquarie City Campus.

Students must successfully complete all subjects and gain at least an average of 75% for entrance into Commerce, Accounting, Marketing and Business Administration degrees.

  • IELTS (Academic English only): 5.5 with 5.0 in each band
  • TOEFL (paper based test): 525
