The Course
The units in this course develop the analytical and creative skills needed to understand the changing nature of contemporary culture.
Suitable For
It is suitable if you want to be prepared for a world of constant technological transformation, not only with media skills but with a solid base to incorporate new media technologies. This qualification provides generic skills in critical thinking, independent research, team work and sensitivity to cultural differences.
Future Career
Graduates work in government and industry administration, publishing and editing, journalism, arts policy/administration, public relations, advertising, media production and liaison, audience research, teaching, and have roles in the planning and development of intercultural projects for entertainment or tourism.

Suggested Programs of Study
This course is made up of a small number of core units and the remaining subjects are all electives. Core units include Text, Image, Culture; Introduction to Visual Culture; Australian Media; and Media Cultures.
